Desborough Town boss Ian Walker has revealed his skipper and goalkeeper are leaving Waterworks Field.
David Glass has announced he’s heading to Australia having skippered Ar Tarn in the UCL Premier Division last season and keeper Richard Lavin is “going to take a break and play some golf.”
Walker says both have been “great servants to the club” and has moved quickly to replace Lavin, bringing in ex-AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Wellingborough Town keeper Ash Foulger.
Walker says he’s also brought in midlfielder Stef Gatting from Thrapston Town and is also “talking to a couple more players.”
He added: “I think I’ve got the nucleus of a good squad.”
Ar Tarn, who finished last season 14th in the Premier Division, returned to pre-season training this week and have lined up seven pre-season friendlies.
They are as follows: July 11: Gretton (away), July 16: Raunds Town (a), July 18: Weldon (a), Jul 25: Aylestone Park (a), July 28: Burton Park Wanderers (a), Aug 1: Blaby & Whetstone (h), Aug 4: St Andrews (h)
