Nomads take over at the top after fine away success

Kettering Nomads hit top spot in the Northants Combination Premier Division after a 4-1 victory at Heyford.

With morning leaders Blisworth on cup duty, Nomads took advantage as they moved to the summit thanks to goals from Chris Difante, Adam Langley, Dominic Whalley and Nathan Wills.
There were two hat-tricks as Wollaston Victoria claimed a 6-3 success over Desborough & Rothwell United.
Jordan Capps hit a treble for the visitors but that proved to be in vain as the hosts took the points.
Callum Herring scored three for Wollaston while Jamie Black, Tom Ripley and Joseph Wenham made up the tally.
Bottom side Earls Barton United picked up their first point of the season as they drew 2-2 at fellow strugglers Burton United.
Brian Boyle and Tibor Molnar scored for Burton while Matthew Shode and Kris Hall replied for Earls Barton.
It was a tough day for Corby Pegasus, however, as they went down 6-0 at Moulton.

Weldon United needed only two goalscorers as they secured a big 7-2 derby success at Corby Strip Mills in Division One.
Iain Blaikie hit four and Michael Byrne struck a hat-trick as Weldon maintained third place in the table.
Corey Beattie was the hero for second-placed Finedon Volta as they maintained their unbeaten start to the season.
Beattie scored all three goals as Volta picked up a 3-1 victory over Bugbrooke A.
There was another hat-trick hero for Woodford Wolves as they picked up a useful 3-3 draw against Moulton Spartak.
Matt Watts grabbed the goals to earn Woodford a share of the spoils.
Higham Town enjoyed a 6-2 home success over Brixworth.
Rosko Cook and Simon Emery both scored twice for Higham with Dylan Carter and Jamie Gould adding the others.
