Wellingborough Town’s recent revival continued as they made it four ChromaSport United Counties League Premier Division matches without defeat with a 3-1 victory at Peterborough Northern Star.

The Doughboys went into a 2-0 first-half lead with Adam Speight heading them in front before Jack Wisniewski doubled the advantage.

And the points were sealed in the second period thanks to Mark Pryor before the hosts pulled one back.

Rothwell Corinthians maintained their top-eight position as they claimed an impressive 1-0 success over Deeping Rangers at Sergeants Lawn.

Callum Plowright was the hero for the hosts as he grabbed the only goal of the game.

There was also home joy for Desborough Town as they beat Oadby Town 3-2 at the Waterworks Field.

Goals from Andy Hall and John Dean put Ar Tarn 2-0 up before the visitors pulled one back.

Will Arnold made it 3-1 with 15 minutes to go and Desborough saw it out despite Oadby adding another.

Whitworth’s three-match unbeaten run was ended as they were beaten 2-0 by Eynesbury Rovers at London Road.

Rushden & Higham moved into the second automatic promotion place in Division One after they thumped Oakham United 5-0 at Hayden Road.

Jory Mann grabbed the first two goals to set the Lankies on their way and they went on to complete a comfortable win thanks to Barry Deacon, Dylan Wilson and Jayden Carter.

They moved above Raunds Town who suffered a third successive league defeat as they were beaten 3-2 at Lutterworth Town.

Burton Park Wanderers’ run of games without a win was extended to six after they went down 3-1 at Potton United.

It’s now 19 defeats from as many games for rock-bottom Stewarts & Lloyds after they suffered a 1-0 home loss to Bourne Town.

In the third round of the NFA Junior Cup, there were comfortable away wins for Irchester United and Thrapston Town.

While Thrapston were winning 5-2 at Peterborough Sports Reserves, the Romans were doing even better as they thrashed Brackley Sports 9-0.
