Andy Peaks insists AFC Rushden & Diamonds will only worry about themselves as they head into the final push for the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division title.

Diamonds maintained their eight-point lead over second-placed Holbeach United after the top-two battled out a 1-1 draw at Carters Park on Saturday.

Russ Dunkley was the hero for Peaks’ side as he grabbed the late equaliser after Jamie Clarke had given the Tigers a first-half lead.

Diamonds have 14 games left to try to get over the line and boss Peaks is solely focused on what his team have to do.

“I will just worry about us now,” the Diamonds manager said.

“All we can do is try to win our next 14 games and then see where they are after that.

“We have got some tough games left and so have Holbeach.

“There are a lot of teams who can take points off each other in this league. We have to make sure we are up for every game and match the opposition.

“All we can do is win our games and we will let Holbeach take care of themselves.”

Diamonds return to action next weekend when they make the short trip to Sileby Rangers.
