Desborough Town’s home ground will have a new name this season after the club secured a sponsorship deal with Soccersixes, the largest network of six-a-side football leagues in the United Kingdom.

It means Ar Tarn’s home in Braybrooke Road has been renamed as The S6 Stadium for the forthcoming ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division campaign, which gets under way at home to Huntingdon Town on saturday.

The new deal will see Soccersixes sponsor the ground with logos around the stadium, at the entrance to the car parking and on the main entrance into the ground.

It is an initial one-year agreement but could result in a long-term deal should it prove to be a success.

Desborough manager Steve Walker said: “We have worked hard with Soccersixes to make this deal happen and the sponsorship will be good for the club moving forward.

“Last season, they sponsored our youth team in its first year of playing and now they want to move further forward with their sponsoring of the club.

“Desborough is making real progress with plans off the field and this will help with those as well as with our long-term aims to develop more teams under the Desborough Town logo.

“It will also contribute to the club’s plans to make significant ground improvements. Overall, we are extremely pleased to secure a major national football brand to work in partnership with Desborough Town.”

Soccersixes Director of Development, Matthew Scoffham, added: “We have worked with Desborough since last season, and we believe as a company this is an ideal opportunity to invest in grassroots football.

“We are always looking to invest in the game in the right areas. Desborough have big plans and we hope to develop our relationship with the club in future.

“As we are a forward moving company, developing Soccer Leagues across 260 towns in the UK, it is an ideal situation to sponsor a forward-looking football club.”

Desborough are also running a free coaching course for boys and girls aged between five and 13 years old next week.

The course will be run by fully qualified coaches between 10am and 3pm every day. To book a place email or call or call 07905972239.
