It’s derby day at the Waterworks Field tonight (Tuesday) as Desborough Town take on Harborough Town in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division.

Ar Tarn will be hoping to bounce back from their 3-1 home defeat to high-flying Kirby Muxloe at the weekend as the visitors struck twice in the final 12 minutes after Fraser Glover had cancelled out their earlier opener.

Another team hoping to bounce back this evening are Wellingborough Town when they make the trip to Oadby Town.

Craig Adams’ first league game back in charge of the club ended in a heavy 8-3 loss at Yaxley, which saw goals from Adam Randall, Jake Newman and Dan Spaughton prove to be in vain.

But it was a terrific weekend for Rothwell Corinthians as they picked up a fine 5-1 success over Harrowby United at Sergeants Lawn.

Having gone a goal down, Corinthians hit back thanks to Jordan Henson, an own-goal, Merson Styles (2) and Kalon Peniasko to record a big victory.

Corinthians will be looking to follow that result up when they go to Cogenhoe United tonight.

Saturday’s Division One results involving local clubs: Long Buckby 4 Burton Park Wanderers 0, Raunds Town 1 (Luke Stevens) Buckingham Town 3, Rushden & Higham United 0 Peterborough Sports 3, Stewarts & Lloyds 3 (David Sheridan, Chris Caswell, Steve Harrison) Irchester United 1 (Sam Dengel), Thrapston Town 1 (Chris Hope) Potton United 2, Whitworth 4 (Luke McDonald, Matty Judge, Cavell Jarvis 2) Woodford United 1.
