Rothwell Corinthians could move up to as high as fourth in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Division One tonight (Tuesday).

But Shaun Sparrow’s team will have their work cut out as they make the trip to take on current leaders Northampton Spencer.

Corinthians were the only local team to play at the weekend as they were narrowly beaten 2-1 by promotion-chasing Premier Division outfit Holbeach United in the league’s Knockout Cup.

A Jordan Henson free-kick had given Corinthians the lead at Carters Park and they held that until the 82nd minute when Livo Dube equalised before he won a penalty, which was converted by Lee Beeson to seal the victory for the Tigers.

Rushden & Higham United are also in Northampton tonight to take on ON Chenecks while Stewarts & Lloyds will continue their search for a first point this season against second-placed Lutterworth Athletic at Occupation Road.

Steve Sargent’s Irchester United are also in action as they take on Bugbrooke at Alfred Street.
