Desborough Town picked up their first win of the season in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division in fine style as they returned from Long Buckby with a 4-0 victory.

Luke Cummins and Michael Byrne put Ar Tarn 2-0 up at the break and further goals from Will Arnold and Cummins again completed a comfortable success.

AFC Rushden & Diamonds opened their campaign with a 2-1 verdict at Harborough Town.

Jack Ashton made the breakthrough with a header from a Matt Gearing corner and it was 2-0 before the break when Fazel Koriya scored after a pass from Joe Henderson.

Vinay Sidar pulled a goal back for the Bees with 20 minutes to go but Diamonds held on to secure the points.

Wellingborough Town slipped to a second defeat in as many games as Cogenhoe United sealed a 3-1 success at the Dog & Duck.

All the goals game in the second half with Karl Bates putting the visitors in front before Josh Urquhart doubled the advantage.

Kyle Locklin reduced the arrears for the Doughboys but the Cooks rounded it off through Lance Allen, who earlier missed a penalty, as he slotted home after a fine run from Luke Emery.

Rushden & Higham United made it two wins from two in Division One with an excellent 5-2 success over ON Chenecks at Hayden Road.

A Jez Hindle own-goal gave the Lankies the lead and they were 3-0 up at the break thanks to a double from Craig Lawman.

Lawman completed his hat-trick before Simon Underwood pulled one back for the visitors. However Jory Mann killed Chenecks off as he made it 5-1 to ensure George Clarke’s late effort was only a consolation.

Rothwell Corinthians won the local derby of the night as they saw off Thrapston Town 4-0 at Sergeants Lawn.

The visitors missed an early penalty and Corinthians took full advantage as Jordan Henson and Kalon Peniasko put them 2-0 up at the break.

Andy White made it 3-0 on 68 minutes and Henson had the final say when he struck four minutes later.

Stewarts & Lloyds suffered a second successive defeat as they were beaten 4-0 at early leaders Lutterworth Athletic. Nathan Bedford, Billy Hayes, Liam Barratt and Danny Laywood did the damage for the hosts.
