Desborough Town will be looking to pick up a second win in a row when they take on Oadby Town in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division at the Waterworks Field tonight (Tuesday).

Ian Walker’s men bounced back from the 4-2 home defeat to Wellingborough Town with a 2-1 success over Boston Town on Saturday thanks to goals from Michael Byrne and Will Arnold.

The weekend also proved to be fruitful for both AFC Rushden & Diamonds and the Doughboys.

Diamonds maintained their 100 per cent start to the Premier Division campaign as they fought back from a goal down to win 2-1 at Harrowby United.

Joe Henderson brough Andy Peaks’ team level after they had fallen behind and Joe Merrill’s 30-yard strike sealed all three points as Diamonds warmed up for their FA Cup clash at Hendon this weekend with a victory.

Wellingborough, meanwhile, secured a second successive victory under joint-managers Steve Herring and Joe Smyth.

Having earned a 4-2 success at Desborough in the previous midweek, the Doughboys followed it up with a fine 2-1 victory at Sleaford Town.

And it was new signing Jake Newman who proved to be the difference as he grabbed both goals to secure the points.
