He has immediately set his sights on a promotion push in the Southern League Division One Central but is well aware that time is of the essence with the Steelmen’s campaign due to get under way in just a month’s time in the preliminary round of the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday, September 12.

The league season is due to kick-off the following week and Mills is keen to ensure the Corby players know exactly what he expects from them in a new era at Steel Park.

“We aren’t full-time so it’s Tuesday and Thursday nights and Saturdays at the moment to get things sorted,” Mills said.

“There is a squad of players here and I need to look at them straight away. I need to get on the training field with them and they need to see what I am about and what I expect from them.

“We all have ways that we like to play the game and I have my way of how I want to play and the players have got to learn that very fast as well as all the disciplines that come with it.

“It’s a weird time but everyone is in the same boat and we have just got to make sure that we get our house in order and that we are ready to go and show what we are all about on September 12.”
