Mitchell full of praise for his Doughboys as they avoid the drop
The Doughboys picked up a crucial 3-2 win over Sileby Rangers last Thursday night, which left them requiring just a point from the last game of the season against Harrowby United to secure their status for the next campaign.
But they went one better and sealed another 3-2 victory at the Dog & Duck to ensure survival while Oadby Town were condemned to relegation to Division One.

But he was delighted with the way the current squad rounded off the season.
“They were two big games and to be fair to the lads, they had enough about them to take the six points,” the Doughboys boss said.
“I think what happened at the end of the season just shows the hard work and desire the players have given us since Stuart (assistant-manager Goosey) and I took charge.

“And the players came up with two good performances just when we needed them.
When we first came in the main aim was to ensure we stayed in the division.
“But I would say we have been preparing for next season for the past three or four months.

“You don’t give up your Tuesdays and Saturdays to try to fight relegation every season.
“Wellingborough have been around the relegation for the past few seasons but our aim will be to have a side that is good enough to finish in mid-table or even higher next time.”
The Division One season came to a close on Wednesday night as bottom side Burton Park Wanderers picked up their third win of the campaign.
