Tommy Wright believes the fact games are about to come thick and fast is a good thing for his Corby Town players.
The Steelmen opened their Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division campaign with a 0-0 draw against Matlock Town at Steel Park on Saturday.
A busy opening month now sees Corby hit the road with tomorrow (Tuesday) night’s trip to Halesowen Town being followed by a clash at Whitby Town next Saturday.
But Wright is looking forward to the busy schedule and insists he and his staff will be “doing everything we can” to ensure the players are comfortable with the flurry of matches,
“We are doing everything we can, we will have a light session tomorrow before we get on the bus,” the Steelmen boss said.
“We go to Halesowen looking to get our first three points of the season.
“If we win there then it will be four points from the first two games and if we produce that over the season then we won’t be far off.
“I don’t think the league table will take shape until 10 games in but that will be mid-September.
“The games are going to come thick and fast but the lads are fit and they are chomping at the bit.
“They have been doing double and triple sessions and they want the games now.”
