Goals from Dan Quigley and Scott Joseph sealed the derby success as Diamonds equalled their club record by when extending an incredible unbeaten run in all competitions to 27 matches.
The league victory followed on from a 1-0 win at Kings Langley in the the preliminary round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
Boss Peaks said: “We are in a good position and we seem to have got better with each week.
“It was disappointing in the first couple of games because I felt we should have had maximum points on the board.
“But over the weekend we got a fantastic result at Kings Langley and then we switched a couple of things around for the Bedford game and we were excellent from start to finish.
“We scored two goals, it could have been a lot more and we played as well as we have done since I have been here.”
Peaks, meanwhile, reserved special praise for midfielder Quigley, who bagged his second goal in as many games after hitting the winner at Kings Langley on Saturday.
“Dan is a perfect example of someone who has improved with every game,” the Diamonds boss added.
