Lee Stevenson has been confirmed as Corby Town’s first summer signing.
The former Mansfield Town midfielder will link up with Steelmen boss David Bell after the pair had been team-mates at Southern League Premier Division outfit King’s Lynn Town.
Stevenson’s arrival has come on a busy day at Steel Park as Bell also revealed three members of last season’s squad have also agreed terms for the new campaign, which is set to see Corby play in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South.
Jason Lee, who’s infamous swig of a fan’s pint earned the club a £10,000 boost and a pre-season friendly with a Premier League legends team after it was voted the best celebration of last season in Marathonbet’s #NonLeagueChallenge, will be staying on at Steel Park for another campaign.
And fellow defenders Miles Smith and Jamie Anton have also agreed deals for the new era under Bell’s leadership.
But it’s the signing of Stevenson which is the most eye-catching news of the summer so far at Steel Park.
The 32-year-old midfielder said: “First and foremost, Belly (Bell) us a friend of mine so I am delighted to sign for Corby Town.
“It is a very well supported club and I am excited by the challenge of being a part of getting the club back to where it needs to be.”
