Corby Town lost their grip on the NFA Hillier Senior Cup as they suffered a shock 4-0 defeat at ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division side Cogenhoe United.
There was a rare start for defender Mark Arber, who hasn’t been part of a Steelmen squad for a number of weeks, while young duo Zak Moon and Harry May were also in the Corby line-up.
The likes of Aman Verma and Tom Berwick were also in the side but the visitors were stunned inside the first minute when Cooks captain Josh Urquhart put them in front.
And it got even better for the hosts when Urquhart grabbed his and his team’s second on 20 minutes.
The Steelmen were unable to find a response in the second half and Cogenhoe added a third when Jack Bowen volleyed home the third with five minutes to go.
And the hosts rounded things off and booked themselves a semi-final clash with Long Buckby when Bowen added his second late on.
Steelmen line-up: Carpenter, Moon, Fox, Thomas (C), Arber, McGowan, May, Verma, Berwick, Ives, Mills. Subs: Gasgoine, Clarke, Wright, Carruthers.
