Corby Town maintained their unbeaten start to the new Southern League Premier Division campaign with a 0-0 draw at Cirencester Town.

There was good news for the Steelmen in the build-up to the game as midfielder Shane Byrne’s international clearance came through to make him available for selection.

And the former Leicester City youngster, who was with Bray Wanderers last season, was handed his first start with Connor Kennedy dropping to bench.

It proved to be a competitive contest in the south-west but there were few chances for either side as they settled for a share of the spoils while Corby secured a second clean sheet in three matches.

The Steelmen will be looking to keep up their impressive start when they take on Arlesey Town at Steel Park on Wednesday night.

Steelmen: Walker, Thomas, Jackson, Malone, Appleton, Daramola, Mills, Milnes, Carvalho, Byrne, May. Subs: Kennedy, Clarke, Weir-Daley Hartley, Wright.
