Corby Town boss Chris Plummer has made a late dip into the transfer market before the deadline for making signings passed.
Midfielder Medi Abalimba has joined the Steelmen until the end of the season and will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s home clash with Worcester City as Plummer’s men look to continue their battle at the wrong end of the Blue Square Bet North table.
Abalimba was most recently at Farnborough but also had spells with Oldham Athletic, Southend United and Derby County.
Plummer said “Medi is a talented footballer and we’re lucky to have been able to sign him.
“He’s had a colourful career given his age and has perhaps lost his way a little bit, but we hope he’ll be able to rediscover his best form here to get himself back on track and to also help us.
“He’s played at a good youth level at Derby County, who signed him for around £1m so he comes with a pedigree and we’re pleased to have him.”
