Corby Town handed Banbury United a 5-0 thumping to take themselves top of the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division.

Poole Town still lead the table on goal difference – and have five games in hand – but that will not stop the Steelmen celebrating their elevated position.

The outstanding victory over Banbury came courtesy of goals from Greg Mills, Spencer Weir-Daley, Ben Milnes and Wilson Carvalho.

Mills put Tommy Wright’s men ahead from the spot before Weir-Daley’s strike gave them a two-goal cushion at half-time.

Milnes stretched them further ahead shortly after the restart following good work from Mills before Carvalho put them in complete control.

It was then left to Mills, right on full-time, to cap a splendid night for the travelling Steelmen with a fifth goal.
