Tommy Wright has confirmed he has ‘shaken hands’ on new deals for six of his title-winning Corby Town squad.
As the Steelmen prepare to celebrate their incredible Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division title victory with an open top bus parade this evening (Tuesday), boss Wright is already planning for what is expected to be National League North campaign next season.
He confirmed skipper Cleveland Taylor has agreed a new deal along with goalkeeper Paul Walker, Stephan Morley, Ben Milnes, Greg Mills and Wilson Carvalho.
Wright is hoping he can keep the vast majority of his title-winning squad together for the new campaign.
And he already appears to have made a good start in making that happen.
“I have spoken to a number of the lads and six have already shaken hands on new deals and should sign those later this week,” the Steelmen boss said.
“I am sure I will speak to a few more during this week but there are some lads who I know will be staying on with us.
“We have made Shane Byrne an offer but, given the season he had, there will be interest in him and I understand him wanting to see what’s out there.
“It’s a similar situation for Herve-Pepe N’Goma. He has been offered trials at other clubs and it may be the case that we have to wait a bit longer for him.”
