Having endured a run of six games without a victory, Diamonds got back on track with Ryan Robbins’ fine half-volley and Spencer Weir-Daley’s effort giving them a 2-0 half-time lead.

A Liam Dolman own-goal got Aylesbury back in it but Joe Curtis scored from close-range to make it 3-1 and substitute Tom Lorraine rounded things off late on.

Diamonds remain two points clear of third-placed Hayes & Yeading United and play one of their two games in hand on them against AFC Dunstable at Hayden Road on Tuesday night.

Corby Town twice came from behind as they made it four games without defeat with an impressive 4-2 victory at Newcastle Town in the Evo-Stik League South.

Luke Askew put the hosts in front but Jordon Crawford levelled, only for Will Bailey to regain the lead for Newcastle.

However, there was a big moment for young striker Zac Allen as his first senior goal for the Steelmen made it 2-2 before half-time.

And two second-half goals from Steven Leslie sealed the victory, the first being a curling shot into the top corner and the other a late penalty.

Corby’s play-off hopes are all-but gone despite the win, although they will now look to finish the season in style as they gear up for their last two matches - the first being their last home game of the campaign against Market Drayton Town next weekend.
