Corby Town have completed the signing of former Boston United captain Gareth Jelleyman on a deal until the end of the season.
Steelmen boss Chris Plummer confirmed over the weekend that he was looking to add another face to his squad after bringing in Stefan Galinski and Jordan Ivey-Ward ahead of the 2-1 defeat at Bradford Park Avenue.
And he has got his man in the form of 32-year-old Jelleyman who had his contract with Boston terminated by mutual consent last Friday.
The left-back had played at Peterborough United, Mansfield Town and Rushden & Diamonds in the past and made 70 appearances for the Pilgrims over nearly two seasons.
Plummer said: “We’re pleased that we’ve been able to sign Gareth.
“He’s an experienced player who’s played over 200 times in the Football League and he’ll bring that experience to improve what is a young, inexperienced team.
“He wasn’t without a club for long and I think it was important that we signed someone of Gareth’s calibre and ability.”
Jelleyman is set to make his debut in tomorrow’s (Wednesday) home clash with Bishop’s Stortford as Corby look to put an end to a run of five successive defeats that have seen them drop to just above the relegation zone in the Blue Square Bet North.
