Tommy Wright believes now is the perfect time to freshen his Corby Town squad up.
The Steelmen have completed the signing of young Leicester City central defender Herve Pepe-N’Goma on a youth loan deal.
Pepe-N’Goma will go straight into the Steelmen squad for Saturday’s trip to Paulton Rovers as they bid to make it 11 games without defeat and maintain their lofty position in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division.
Boss Wright admitted his hand was forced with the addition of Pepe-N’Goma with defender Edi Appleton unavailable for the next three matches.
Appleton will attend a family wedding this weekend before beginning a two-match ban on Tuesday night when Corby head to Peterborough Northern Star in the semi-finals of the NFA Hillier Senior Cup.
And Wright said: “It’s a good deal for both clubs with Herve, he needs games and we need some cover with Edi being out of the next few games.
“I was impressed with Herve when we played Leicester in pre-season and I did ask about him at that stage. But the timing is perfect now.”
