Andy Peaks wants his AFC Rushden & Diamonds side to secure an Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central play-off place when they head to title contenders Egham Town tonight (Tuesday).
The two teams had been due to meet at the weekend but the match was put back 72 hours due to a waterlogged pitch.
And there is plenty on the line this evening.
Egham need a win to stay in contention for the title while Diamonds now require just one point from their final two matches to seal a top-five finish and an extended season.
Two victories for Peaks’ team could even seal a home semi-final as they seek a second successive promotion.
But the manager isn’t thinking any further ahead than just making sure his team are in the top five by the time they have played Godalming Town in the final game of the regular campaign at the Dog & Duck on Saturday.
“My first aim above anything else is to make sure we get that point we need,” the Diamonds boss said.
“Three weeks ago there were some who were saying we might struggle to get into the play-offs so if we can get that point then we will be where we wanted to be at the start of the season.
“But if we can pick up a couple of wins in these two games then it may be enough to be at home in the play-offs and that would be great.
“However, the most important thing is making sure we are in them and that’s all we are thinking about.
“It’s a big game for both clubs because they still have a big chance of winning the title.
“If anything, the pressure is probably a bit greater on them than it is on us.
“From our point of view, I don’t want to be relying on other results.
“I have always said that we must take care of ourselves and now we are in a position to get into the play-offs. Anything on top of that will be a bonus.”
