Tommy Wright expects in-form Corby Town’s squad to have a stronger look to it when they take on Hitchin Town in the Calor League Premier Division at Steel Park on Wednesday.
The Steelmen joint-manager revealed the club are closing in on two new signings following the superb 3-1 success at Redditch United, which made it three league wins in a row.
With Paul Malone still missing due to an ankle injury, Corby were only able to name four substitutes, two of whom were youngsters Zak Moon and Harry May.
But Wright fully expects the squad to be bolstered early this week following the recent departures of Nabil Shariff, Lee Hendrie and Nathan Rooney.
“As it stands, we will definitely have a new player in tomorrow (Monday) and we should be two players up by the time Wednesday comes around,” Wright said.
“We brought Aman Verma in before last weekend because we knew that some changes were coming.
“And if the two players we want to bring in do come off then the squad will have a lot more depth and we will be stronger for it.”
Wright, meanwhile, was delighted his team’s display at Redditch. Verma gave them the lead with his first goal for the club but the hosts hit back to level before half-time after Paul Walker had saved a penalty.
But Tom Berwick was the Steelmen’s hero as he scored twice in the last 15 minutes to seal another victory and help Corby move up to 12th place.
Wright said: “It is a massive result for us.
“We changed the formation around after 10 minutes of the second half because Redditch got on top of us a bit and we have finished the game strongly.
“In all honesty, we probably would have been happy with a point but we got the second goal and we didn’t really look back from there.
“I was delighted for Tom (Berwick), it was a massive plus for him and us that he scored the two goals. He needed those and I am over the moon for him.”
