Greg Mills and Cleveland Taylor have put pen to paper on new deals at Corby Town.
The duo have become the first members of the Steelmen’s Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division title-winning squad to sign up for the forthcoming Vanarama National League North campaign.
Taylor captained the club for the majority of last season and was an influential figure both on and off the pitch while Mills scored more than 20 goals in all competitions, including a penalty in the final-day 3-2 victory at Poole Town, which clinched the title.
More members of the Steelmen squad are expected to follow the pair in signing up for next season.
Mills said: “I am delighted to have put pen to paper on a new deal to stay at the club next season.
“The only thing on my mind was to continue playing my football here and I am just happy to be able to do that.
“Everybody has been so welcoming since I arrived at the club and I am really enjoying my football.
“After last season I am just looking forward to getting started again and hopefully we can have another successful campaign.
“There’s a real feel good factor around the place and with the pre-season fixtures that Tommy has managed to arrange it’s only going to get better as we get closer.
“The main aim is to build on what we achieved last season and to do Corby proud again.”
Boss Tommy Wright, meanwhile, was delighted to see Taylor sign his new deal.
The Steelmen manager said: “I am absolutely delighted to tie Cleves down on a contract for next year, he’s my captain and he got my manager’s player of the year award too for last season.
“He was responsible for turning a team of boys into men last season and it goes without saying what I think of the man.
“He is a true leader as he showed on numerous occasions and is a pleasure to have around the place. His character and positivity is absolutely infectious.
“Cleveland has become a cult hero with the fans and he matches my ambitions looking forwards.”
