Corby Town slipped to their first defeat in pre-season this summer as a Leeds United XI fought back from a goal down to win 2-1 at Steel Park.
Steelmen manager Tommy Wright included former Boston United man Ben Milnes in his starting line-up as the first-team players took centre-stage following a fine effort from a young Corby side in the 1-0 success at AFC Rushden & Diamonds on Tuesday night.
And it was the hosts who went in front after 10 minutes when captain Paul Malone rose to head home a corner.
But the visitors got back on level terms before half-time thanks to Luke Parkin’s effort and it was Leeds who found a winner with 11 minutes to go as Munya Mbanje fired home a half-volley.
The Steelmen are back in action at Steel Park on Saturday when they take on a Leicester City XI (3pm).
