Gary King grabbed his first goal since returning to Corby Town as he earned them a 1-1 draw at Vauxhall Motors.

After a goalless first half, Chris Plummer’s side fell behind seven minutes into the second period when Michael Burns converted a penalty.

But King equalised from a Ryan Semple cross and that secured a well-deserved point for the visitors.

It means Corby are now five points clear of the relegation zone, although third-from-bottom Colwyn Bay have three games in hand. The first of those is at Gloucester City tonight (Wednesday)

The Steelmen are back in action at Steel Park on Saturday when they take on Worcester City.

Steelmen line-up: Walker, Crowe, Jelleyman, Webb, Galinski, Piergianni, Semple, Wedderburn, N’Guessan, King, Moreman. Subs: Malone, Richardson, McGowan, Ives, Kaziboni.

Goals: Burns pen (52 mins, 1-0), King (69 mins, 1-1).

Attendance: 106.
