Corby Town have completed the signing of former Boston United striker Spencer Weir-Daley.
The frontman has penned a one-year deal at Steel Park for the forthcoming Southern League Premier Division campaign after his contract with the Pilgrims expired at the end of last season.
Weir-Daley hit 66 goals in 176 appearances for Boston and has also played for the likes of Macclesfield Town, Lincoln City and Bradford City in the past.
Steelmen boss Tommy Wright confirmed Weir-Daley had been one his main targets during the summer.
He said: “Spencer has been a target for us all summer since he announced that he would be leaving Boston United and I am absolutely delighted that he has agreed to join us for next season.
“He is a proven goal scorer at all levels and will provide the current group of players with a huge boost. He is the sort of player that we can build a team around.”
The Steelmen return for pre-season training next week and Wright has also hinted that more signings could be on the way.
He added: “I am continuing to work hard on new faces and there are a few more that are very close to being agreed, plus we have a number of exciting trialists coming to spend some time with us next week.”
