Chris Plummer is refusing to take his eye of the job at hand as Corby Town prepare to take on Histon in tonight’s FA Cup third qualifying round replay at Steel Park.
The winners will host Ryman League Premier Division side Hendon in the fourth qualifying round after they beat Eastbourne Borough 2-1 after extra-time last night.
And while Steelmen boss Plummer admits the draw was reasonably kind to the Blue Square Bet North rivals, he knows his team have a big job on their hands to finish Histon off this evening after a hard-fought 1-1 draw on Saturday.
“When we go out there tonight, the only thing we should be thinking about is Histon,” Plummer said.
“No-one can allow themselves to look too far ahead and we have a big task on our hands if we are to progress.
“I am sure both clubs would agree that the draw could have been a lot worse.
“But it’s only an opportunity for the team that wins and we must remember that.
“I am not expecting anything different from the weekend. They, like us, are a committed team and it was a proper cup tie on Saturday.
“There wasn’t a great deal to choose and we will be ready for whatever comes at us tonight, even if we have to go through extra-time and penalties.
“I am expecting a real blood and thunder battle.”
