The Poppies had their winning run ended at the weekend as they were held to a 1-1 draw by St Neots Town at Latimer Park.

There’s no rest for the wicked, however, and Kettering are straight back into action tomorrow (Tuesday) night when they host Stratford Town.

Saturday’s stalemate has left Law’s team seven points behind fifth-placed Hitchin Town with two games in hand.

And the Poppies boss is continuing to bank on his team’s impressive home form as they bid to sneak into the play-offs in the final stages of the season.

“There are going to be points dropped by teams and when that happens we have to take advantage,” Law said.

“We are still in there and as long as we are within touching distance, that’s all that matters.

“Right now, it seems teams aren’t looking forward to coming to play us at home.

“We have proved we have goals in us and we have taken four points from the last two games when we know we can perform better.”

Law added to his squad ahead of the weekend with young striker David Popa joining on loan from Birmingham City and linking up with his Blues team-mate Perry Cotton, who is also at Latimer Park on a temporary basis.

And the Poppies boss had admitted the squad will really start coming into play as the matches come thick and fast for his team.

“He (Popa) looks technically very good and he has come from a source I trust,” Law added.

“He came on at the weekend and did have a chance that wouldn’t quite drop for him.

“It’s fair to say Perry has not let us down and he comes to us from the same club so I am sure he will do a job for us.

“There are some young, fresh legs within the squad and it’s a case of me managing it correctly with so many games in a short space of time.

“That will really come into action from tomorrow.”
