KETTERING TOWN today unveiled six new signings – as manager Morell Maison revealed nine players were to leave the club.
Former Northampton Town defender Luke Graham, ex-Rushden & Diamonds ace Darren Caskey, Cambridge United striker Craig Westcar and Peterborough midfielder Andre Bouchard were today named as the new signings to join Mark Burrows and Rene Howe, who signed on last week.
However, long-serving Wayne Diuk Jamie Paterson and James Gould are among the players released by Maison, although there is still a possibility that Gould could be at Rockingham Road next season.
And the club are still in talks with four other players who were on the staff last season, including Craig McIlwain and Darren Lynch.
Graham was loaned out by the Cobblers to Forest Green Rovers and returns to the club where he spent the end part of the 2004-05 season on loan under the management of Kevin Wilson.
Midfielder Darren Caskey is making the move up the A6 to Rockingham Road from county rivals Diamonds, as revealed by the ET this week, after being released following the club's relegation last season.
Maison said he was delighted with the players he had brought in and said there may be more to follow.
He said: "I have been working 18 hours a day in the past few weeks. I have even considered getting a bed in my office at the club. But it is very satisfying to have brought these players in. The majority of them are young. But they play the game the way it should be played and the way I like it.
"Ever since I got the job I have always had one eye on next season and I identified between 18 and 20 players who I thought could do a job for us.
"That list went down to nine and, hopefully, that is what we will have when everything has been done.
"These are the players who I believe can help us achieve our goal for next season and that is winning the Nationwide North title. There are plenty of exciting things happening at this club at the moment and these signings are just a part of that."
Maison's squad will return for pre-season training on June 24 as they switch to full-time.
