Kettering Town have completed the signing of Gary Mulligan from Dunstable Town.
The forward links up with former Brackley Town team-mates Elliot Sandy, Brett Solkhon and James Clifton after making the move to Latimer Park.
Mulligan made over 100 Football League appearances for the likes of Gillingham and Northampton Town while he also had a loan stint at Rushden & Diamonds as he came through the ranks at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 29-year-old went on to play for Gateshead and then Brackley where he helped them win the Southern League Premier Division title and reach the Conference North play-offs.
Poppies joint-boss Thomas Baillie revealed the addition of Mulligan had ended a long pursuit for the frontman’s signature.
“We have known about Gary for a while and we tried to get him during the summer,” Bailie said.
“He has a lot of experience, he is a good age and he has lots of energy, which is what we want.
“He trained with us yesterday (Monday) and I think the tempo of that was increased by him being involved. I am sure he will be a key player for us.”
Mulligan will be in the Poppies squad for tonight’s clash with Beaconsfield SYCOB at Latimer Park, although the match is subject to a pitch inspection between 1pm and 2pm this afternoon following heavy snow last night.
