Kettering Town’s on-field problems continued as they suffered a sixth successive defeat since they started playing again after a month without any action.

The Poppies were beaten 3-0 at Chippenham Town in their latest Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division encounter.

The hosts put the Poppies under pressure early on and it paid off when Tom Knighton put the hosts in front after 20 minutes.

Kettering did improve after that but a final ball was lacking as they struggled to create chances.

And the visitors fell 2-0 down early in the second half when Luke Ballinger was on hand to score from close range.

It only got worse from there as former Rushden & Diamonds striker Lee Phillips added a third for the hosts with a close-range header.
