The Poppies had their Emirates FA Cup hopes ended in a 2-0 defeat at Varanama National League side Aldershot Town last weekend.

Their attention now switches to the Buildbase FA Trophy as they take on fellow Evo-Stik League South Premier Division Central high-flyers Stourbridge in the first qualifying round at Latimer Park tomorrow (Saturday).

But Law insists his main focus is on “getting his squad ready” for a big run of league fixtures in November as the Poppies bid to maintain top spot.

And he is set to use the Trophy and the upcoming Southern League Challenge Cup clash with King’s Lynn Town on November 6 as an opportunity to give those who need it, a chance to impress.

“Both us and Stourbridge have started well so that makes it interesting,” Law said.

“I am not sure what they will do team selection wise but I am just going to concentrate on us.

“We need to get some players involved who need the opportunity to show their worth.

“We have this game and the Challenge Cup (against King’s Lynn Town) coming up and I want to strike the balance between those.

“The cups are a nice distraction but the fact is we have a very busy and important month coming up in the league and that has to be our main focus.

“The FA Trophy is great if you can get into the latter stages and we will certainly do all we can to win the game this weekend.

“But, for now, we are going to focus on getting the squad ready and prepared for a big run of league matches next month."
