Kettering Town chairman Ritchie Jeune has called on the club’s fans to show their support for Bashley when the two teams meet in a pre-season friendly.
The Poppies have added the away clash to their pre-season programme and will head to the New Forest on Saturday, August 2 (1pm kick-off) for what will be their final friendly before the Southern League Division One Central campaign gets under way the following week.
Bashley fell on hard financial times towards the end of last season, a situation Jeune and his club know far too much about themselves.
And the Poppies chief said: “The first team will be travelling down to Bashley to show our support for a club, who like us, have struggled financially and are going through a phase of rebuilding.
“We hope our fans will have a summer day out and come down and support the team but also to support Bashley with a few beers in their club house to toast their future”.
A joint coach will be going to the game where co-managers Thomas Baillie and Scott Machin and the squad will travel with supporters.
It will leave Rockingham Road at 8.15am and Latimer Park at 8.30am.
Fans can book their seat for £10 by calling Brian on 01536 517733.
The Poppies, meanwhile, are looking for a first team sports science/conditioning coach for next season.
The position will be a part-time voluntary role, altough travel expenses will be paid.
The closing date for applications is July 1 and anyone interested should email a covering letter and CV for the attention of Scott Machin to firstname.lastname@example.org
