Twelve months ago Hall was playing a key role in helping Kettering Town as they eventually powered towards the crown in the second half of the season.

A year on, Hall is now just down the A509 with AFC Rushden & Diamonds with the same target in mind.

Having started the season at Stamford after leaving Kettering in the summer, Hall moved to the Dog & Duck in the middle of October.

He has had to wait for his chance but took full advantage of being given a start last weekend as he hit a hat-trick in the 8-1 destruction of rock-bottom North Greenford United.

Diamonds are now preparing for a trip to last season’s runners-up Aylesbury on Saturday.

And Hall insists the Diamonds players are focused on the job at hand.

“It’s always nice wherever you are to win silverware,” he said.

“I came here to help the club be where they should be and hopefully we can push on from here.

“We have got a great bunch of lads. We know what we have got to do and what we can do.

All we can do is keep performing well week in, week out and the results will come.

“We all want to win the league but we will take it game by game and see where it takes us.”
