The striker, who boasts a prolific record throughout his career, was most recently at Halesowen Town having started the current season at Redditch United.

But he has now joined Diamonds ahead of tomorrow’s (Thursday) registration deadline as they bid to seal promotion in the final 10 games of the season.

Weir-Daley is no stranger to these parts having scored 23 goals for Corby Town during their Southern League Premier Division title-winning campaign in the 2014-15 season.

He later signed for Kettering Town and hit 22 goals for the Poppies having joined them towards the end of the 2015-16 campaign and staying on for part of the following season.

And now he will be looking to help fire Diamonds to promotion as they currently sit five points clear at the top of the table ahead of this weekend’s tough trip to Hartley Wintney.

Diamonds have also re-signed utility man Brad Harris after he finished his contract at Rugby Town, the club he joined at the start of the season having previously made over 200 appearances for Peaks’ team.

And, in a triple swoop, Diamonds have also signed goalkeeper Adam Harper from Barton Rovers as cover for first-choice Ben Heath.

Diamonds boss Andy Peaks said: “I am thrilled to bring Spencer into the club, his record speaks for itself at this level, and I have no doubt he is just what we need for the last few weeks of the season.

“Brad was a ‘no-brainer’ to welcome back to the club.

“He covers so many positions and we know all about him, and with the games coming thick and fast it is important to have depth in the squad to cover and in case of injuries we pick up along the way”

Subject to league ratification, both Harris and Weir-Daley will be eligible to make his debut in Saturday’s clash at fifth-placed Hartley as Diamonds bid to bounce back from last night’s 1-0 home defeat to Hayes & Yeading United.

One player leaving Diamonds, however, is midfielder Lewis Leslie who has signed for St Ives Town.
