Cup heroes Desborough set to turn their attention to the league

Chris Bradshaw’s team travel to Kirby Muxloe for their opening league fixture after a John Dean goal earned them 1-0 victory at Tring Athletic in the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup at the weekend.

Wellingborough Town will be hoping to bounce back from their exit at the hands of Stotfold when they take on Eynesbury Rovers at the Dog & Duck this evening while Rothwell Corinthians, who went down 2-1 at Crawley Green in the FA Cup on Sunday, open their league season with a home clash against Harborough Town tomorrow night.

Rushden & Higham United and Raunds Town will both be looking for their first points of the season when they clash in a Division One local derby at Hayden Road tonight.

Elsewhere, Irchester United and Whitworth will be bidding to make it two wins out of two.

The Romans won 1-0 at Woodford United on Saturday and head to Potton United this evening while the Flourmen host Olney Town having beaten Thrapston Town 4-3 at the weekend.

Stewarts & Lloyds, beaten 3-0 at Lutterworth Athletic in their opener on Saturday, entertain Oakham United who are looking to make it three wins out of three.
