Corby finishing on a '˜bad note' but Wright wants one last effort

But the Steelmen boss insists his team will be preparing properly for the final game of the season at play-off contenders Harrogate Town on Saturday.

It’s been a campaign pretty much full of struggle for Corby who have already been relegated and they are currently on a miserable run of 13 games without a win.

They ended their home programme with a 3-0 defeat to Stalybridge Celtic at Steel Park at the weekend.

And while Wright acknowledges they are going down with something of a whimper, he is calling for one last effort from his squad before the preparations for next season get under way.

“We have gone out on a bad note, we are losing games, we are conceding a lot of goals and we have lost a ridiculous number of matches throughout the season,” Wright said.

“But we go again and I am not going to take my team up to Harrogate to be on the end of a big defeat.

“The fans have been great with us, they haven’t moaned. They have supported us and they did it again at the weekend but we haven’t delivered results for them.

“We have one more game to go and we will prepare properly for it.

“And then once it’s done, it will be time to sit down and re-evaluate what we have got to do over the summer.”
