Clubs set for county cup action

The NFA Hillier Senior Cup takes centre-stage over the next couple of days.

Kettering Town, who have won the competition for the past two seasons, begin their defence with clash against Future Lions United Counties League Premier Division side Cogenhoe United at Latimer Park tonight (Tuesday).

Also this evening, AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Corby Town are on the road against UCL opposition.

With no game at the weekend, Diamonds are expected to name a strong side to take on Peterborough Northern Star while the Steelmen, fresh from an 8-1 drubbing of North Leigh at the weekend, head to Whitworth.

Tonight’s other tie is at the R Inn Stadium where Desborough Town take on Daventry Town.

The two other first-round matches are tomorrow evening as Wellingborough Town make the trip to Brackley Town Saints while Rothwell Corinthians head to UCL rivals ON Chenecks.
