The right-back joined the Poppies in the summer and has been an impressive performer in their fine campaign so far, which has sees them flying high in the Evo-Stik South League Premier.Berry had already worked his way back from suffering a broken ankle while playing for Torquay United in March last year but has now been handed a new blow after he suffered the latest injury during last weekend’s dramatic 4-3 success at Farnborough.“It’s quite serious unfortunately,” Law said.“We are waiting for one more consultant to confirm it but it’s looking like a ruptured Achilles tendon.“I just feel extremely sorry for the lad because he has battled his way back from another devastating injury and now he has been dealt with this.“I think it’s fair to say that he’s been on a par with Gary Mulligan in being one of the most consistent performers so far.“He has been one of the major positives for us and has played a key role in us keeping a lot of clean sheets.“It’s devastating for him and a big blow for us.”
