Five Saints retained by England for Australia clash

Five Saints players will be part of England’s 23-man squad for Saturday’s clash with Australia - but Luther Burrell is not one of them.

The in-form centre is one of 11 men released back to their clubs ahead of this weekend’s Aviva Premiership action.

It means Burrell, who scored a try in last Saturday’s 41-20 thrashing of Saracens, will be available for Saints’ trip to London Irish on Sunday.

But Dylan Hartley, Courtney Lawes, Tom Wood, Lee Dickson, Ben Foden have been retained by England and could play their part against the Wallabies at Twickenham.

Alex Corbisiero remains on the road to recovery from a knee injury and will not be available for club or country.
