England trio will be fit for Bath battle, says Dickens

Alan Dickens has confirmed England trio Stephen Myler, Tom Wood and Courtney Lawes will be available for Saturday’s Aviva Premiership showdown with Bath.

Myler and Wood missed last Sunday’s win at Newcastle Falcons due to calf and back injuries respectively, while Lawes was forced off with a shoulder knock.

But Dickens says all three men will be in contention for this weekend’s clash at Franklin’s Gardens.

“We’ve got a full squad to pick from this Saturday so that’s a positive,” said the assistant coach.

“We had some good performances last week without Stephen Myler and Tom Wood, with Will Hooley and Jon Fisher impressing, so the competition is there for selection.”

Sam Dickinson is one man who is missing as he continues on the road to recovery from a neck injury.

But Dickens says the No.8 is making good progress and believes he will be back inside two months.

“He’s not too far off,” said Dickens. “We’ll probably be looking at six, seven weeks but it’s a positive.”
