Northampton have not won on Leicester turf since a sensational individual try from Mark Robinson earned a 9-8 win in February, 2007.

But Saints have made a habit of ruining side’s home records, securing impressive wins at the likes of Ulster, Leinster and Saracens in recent seasons.

And Elliott said: “We’re a team that likes to take records away and that one always lingers over us so hopefully this weekend can be the one.

“It’s going to be a big physical battle on that small pitch and we’ve got to be up for it.

“You’ve got to keep the momentum going for the play-off games and we want to go there and win.

“We know Leicester are going to go in all guns blazing because they need the win (to make the play-offs) and it’s going to be a real battle.

“We’re not going to make it easy for them, we’ll get up for it try to stop them getting over the gainline.”

Men such as Phil Dowson, Samu Manoa and Salesi Ma’afu will be leaving Saints at the end of the season.

And Elliott says there is a desire to help them go out in style during the next few weeks.

“There’s so much motivation around this team,” said the winger.

“Some people are not going to be here next season and we’ve got to play for them and play for everyone else.”
