And he is eager for his team to take as many points as possible from the next two games as they bid to claim a place in the quarter-finals of Europe’s premier rugby competition.

Saints go into the game at Ospreys on Sunday buoyed by four successive wins, including back-to-back home successes against Bath and Harlequins.

Now they need to take as many points as possible from this weekend’s clash and the home game against Castres six days later as they aim to topple Leinster, who are four points clear at the summit of Pool 1.

And Dickson said: “We did target the two home games (against Bath and Quins). We want to make Franklin’s Gardens a fortress and sending Bath and Harlequins away with nothing and taking nine points is really pleasing.

“Now our attention turns to the Heineken Cup. We can put the Premiership to bed, we’re sitting pretty there, everything’s going well and now we’ve got to take some points from the next two Heineken Cup games and see what happens from that.”
