The big No.8 put in another impressive performance last Sunday, as Northampton earned a 10th successive Aviva Premiership win at the expense of Newcastle Falcons.

Saints have won their last 11 games in all competitions and sit at the league summit ahead of Saturday’s game against Gloucester at Franklin’s Gardens.

But with Saracens and Bath also refusing to blink in recent weeks, there is still plenty to do to secure a home play-off semi-final.

And Dickinson is adamant Saints are never satisfied, no matter where they sit in the table and no matter how impressive their form has been.

“The Premiership is one of the top leagues in the world,” he said. “It’s very professional and no one comes out easy and thinks ‘I’ll have a rest one week’.

“No one rests on their laurels, especially this time of the season when there’s internationals away and there’s other lads trying to take opportunities.

“It’s a constant drive for improvement.”
