Wakely signs contract extension with Northamptonshire
Northamptonshire’s one-day captain Alex Wakely has signed a deal to stay with the club until at least 2015.

Wakely, who led the County to their first silverware for 21 years when they won the Friends Life t20, was already contracted for next season but has put pen to paper on an extension
He said: “I’m very happy to have signed a new deal with the club.
“I love this club and consider myself a Northants boy through and through.
“I’ve been here since I was 12 and have enjoyed some amazing times - none more so than in 2013, when we finally won a trophy.

“I can’t wait for the challenge of first division County Championship cricket and hopefully a chance to prove myself.”
Head coach David Ripley added: “It is great news that Alex has decided to extend his stay here at the County Ground.
