The contest to earn a place in the Hevey Building Supplies Premier Division reaches the penultimate stage this weekend.

With two rounds of games remaining, three sides are in with a shout of earning the one promotion spot.

Oundle currently lead the way, 10 points ahead of Desborough with Rushden a further seven points behind and all are at home this weekend.

The leaders entertain Finedon Dolben 2nd at Milton Road, Desborough host Kettering at West Lodge Park and Rushden have a derby clash with Irthlingborough at Short Stocks.

Elsewhere, the Old Wellingburians host Isham in a game they must win if they are to have any chance of avoiding relegation.

With only one team going down this year, the OWs are 34 points adrift of Isham and safety.

The weekend’s other games see Geddington host Old Northamptonians 2nd and Wellingborough Indians travel to Loddington.

With the Premier Division title all sewn up by Peterborough and no side being relegated due to the NCCC Academy’s withdrawal, the rest of the campaign is about playing for places.

Northampton Saints currently lead the race for the runners-up spot - they are 17 points clear of Finedon Dolben - and they make the short trip to local rivals Old Northamptonians with Finedon at home to Brixworth.

At the foot of the table, Horton House, who travel to Rushton, will be looking to close the 20-point gap on Burton Latimer who are at home to Wollaston.

There is a mid-table clash between Wellingborough Town and Stony Stratford and the final fixture of the round ses the Academy entertain Peterborough at the County Ground.
