Finedon were in all sorts of bother in reply as they slumped to 45 for six, and although Chris Todd (51n0) and Tom Brett (45) tried to turn things round, they fell short at 181 for eight.

For Geddington, Adil Arif (3-22) and Luke Thomas (2-25) did most of the early damage.

Desborough Town hosted Horton House in their first game of the season and were winners by 43 runs.

The home side recovered from 91 for six to post a testing 196 for nine, with crucial late runs from Jake Bindley (49) and Lewis Ward (30no), with Jay Parmer (3-39) the most potent of the Horton attack.

Horton's reply was similar to Borough's in that they were reduced to 90 for six, but there was to be no late order rescue mission for them as they were bowled out for 153 despite 40 from Mark Wolstenholme.

Sam Harris led the bowling honours for Desborough with three for 25.

Finally, Rushden & Higham were six-wicket winners over Oundle at Short Stocks.

Daniel Robinson top scored with 51 as Oundle were bowled out for a below-par 145 in 31.5 overs, as Callum Nicholson claimed four for 40, and there were two wickets apiece for Robin Thapar, Chris Law and Shiv Patel.
