Headingley clash washed out

The Steelbacks’ Clydesdale Bank 40 Group C clash with Yorkshire Carnegie was abandoned without a ball being bowled after persistent rain in Leeds.

Umpires Martin Saggers and Peter Hartley required only a brief visit on to the playing surface to determine that there was little chance of a contest going ahead and the game was called off less than 30 minutes after the scheduled start time of 1.45pm.

It means that the Steelbacks are still at the bottom of the table without a win in five games.

Their next outing in the competition is next Sunday when they travel to Tunbridge Wells to face Kent.
